2012-10-25 22:13:48 -0500 asked a question Installation Errors Everywhere

I have been attempting to install SimpleCV for two days now. I'm not computer illiterate, and I've run out of ideas/googling is coming up with nothing.

I tried the superpack, and whenever I would instantiate an image to show it would crash "Not responding"... I never actually saw anything but a black dialog box. However, I could get it to save live images to a snapshot folder... I just never saw that image.

So, I uninstalled everything and began following this: https://github.com/ingenuitas/SimpleCV#installation for Windows 7.

Got everything working (even the environment variables and installed) and Pygame refuses to cooperate. I get errors that Pygame isn't found. I reinstalled pygame using pip, easy_install, manually, several times. Now, instead of that I get this error:

C:\Users\Matt>CD C:/Python27/Scripts

I can't even get into any form of GUI/notebook/anything. I'm uninstalling and reinstalling the superpack now. Help?

[EDIT]

Reinstalled from superpack and ingenuitas's github walkthrought. Same results, a new error: >>> from SimpleCV import Image

Traceback (most recent call last): File "<pyshell#4>", line 1, in <module> from SimpleCV import Image File "C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\SimpleCV_init_.py", line 3, in <module> from SimpleCV.base import * File "C:\Python27\lib\site-packages\SimpleCV\base.py", line 59, in <module> raise ImportError("Cannot load OpenCV library which is required by SimpleCV") ImportError: Cannot load OpenCV library which is required by SimpleCV

I can't even get to the workarounds and things because of this. What do you guys think?
