2012-08-14 11:49:08 -0500 asked a question webcam on a Macbook

I've got SimpleCV 1.3 working on my Macbook now, but seem to only be able to connect to the iSight camera and not a USB webcam. The webcam works fine in photobooth. I've tried cam = Camera(1) followed by cam.live(), which loads the iSight camera and cam = Camera(0) which generates an error on entering cam.live().

Any ideas? Just tried again with Camera(0) and it worked but gives an error python[1533:60b] Can't open input server /Users/martin/Library/InputManagers/

I've just installed SimpleCV on Mac OS X Lion, following the instructions on the website. It wasn't an easy installation had to remove macports to get brew to work correctly. And I had to reinstall scipy when I first tried loading the shell. Now I get the above error message.

This is what I get following your instructions
