Hello,

I just started using SimpleCV today.

I'm on windows 7.

I run the camshift example I found here: https://github.com/ingenuitas/SimpleCV/blob/develop/SimpleCV/examples/tracking/camshift.py

It works, though the python.exe crashes after a few seconds because the memory usage tops 1.5GB.

Whats going on?

Hey, It's a memory management bug in the camshift. We're working on it.

Looks like Jay got to this pronto. Please do a pull request from the develop branch. Sorry for the problems and thanks for helping us make SimpleCV better.

Interesting. I was able to replicate the problem on my Mac. Here is the stack trace. It definitely looks like a memory management issue. The author of that bit of code is one of our Google Summer of Code students. I have filed a ticket on github and I will see if he can't take a look at it.
