The getSkintoneBlobs that we tried on a photo of me inside airport nicely shows my skin tone based blobs from my face in the picture. however, similar structures in the picture such as plywood , brownish clothes also get identified in the picture as blobs..

How do we effectively remove this? since this is a color image, we cant apply binarisation and segmentation.

Thanks in advance Sankar

findSkintoneBlobs finds things that are skin tone. All it really does is carve out a part of the color space where human skin tones live. If you happen to have things in your scene that are also skin tone (e.g. wood or clothes) it will find those things too. Perhaps you could filter your blob feature set based on size, shape, or location? Generating a skin tone blobs mask and applying a couple of morphological operations to the mask could also help.
