Hi all, Ive recently installed SimpleCV using the osX-Lion setup instructions in page https://github.com/ingenuitas/simplecv

Then I type python in Terminal and when I try the following I get an error.

import SimpleCV
Fatal Python error: (pygame parachute) Segmentation Fault
Abort trap: 6

However I get no errors when i try to import pygame myself. Any fix for this? Thanks

@kscottz, Thanks for the reply, when I type simplecv in Terminal, it tells me that the command is not found. and on ipython when i type 'import SimpleCV", I get no module found error. I have followed the instructions given on webpage. What should i do next?

I am not sure how simplecv will behave in the python shell. On my mac (Snow Leopard) the import fails. Try running ipython or the simplecv shell (just type simplecv). See if that will give us some more information. My guess is that this is a python path issue but I am not quite sure where to look. You may want to provide us a dump with your python path. Here is what it looks like on my Mac. Your millage may vary on Lion.

import os
os.environ['PYTHONPATH'].split(os.pathsep)
>>> ['/Library/Python/2.6/site-packages/']
