Hello, I have a ubuntu 12.04 machine that I'm trying to install SimpleCV on. I've done:

sudo apt-get install ipython python-opencv python-scipy python-numpy python-pygame python-setuptools python-pip
sudo pip install
sudo pip install tornado
sudo pip install pyzmq

the SimpleCV shell runs fine, but simplecv notebook fails with:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/local/bin/simplecv", line 9, in <module>
    load_entry_point('SimpleCV==1.3', 'console_scripts', 'simplecv')()
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/SimpleCV/Shell/", line 198, in main
  File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/SimpleCV/Shell/", line 166, in run_notebook
    from IPython.frontend.html.notebook import notebookapp
ImportError: No module named html.notebook

Any thoughts on how to get the SimpleCV notebook to start?

I'm wondering if it's trying to use a different version of ipython. You can see what version of IPython you have by typing:

ipython --version

You may want to try upgrading to 0.13 if that isn't your version with:

pip install -U ipython

simplecv notebook does not work anymore since version 0.13.2 of ipython notebook, but you can still integrate () in ipython notebook easily with:

from SimpleCV import *

Do these commands enable in the notebook or is this a different function call?

With the notebook show you are just overriding the following command: from SimpleCV import * disp = Display(displaytype='notebook') img = Image('simplecv')
