Dear All, I have been struggling with implementing blobtrack.cpp (from OpenCV) example on realtime feed. Is there a working translation that I can look at , which is equivalent to blobtrack?

I do not have much background on image processing or computer vision, i am a novice with basic concepts, so I was hoping to find a script that can detect vehicles passing by on a road and extract the images etc.... I cam build rest of the logic but a working blobs detecting script will really help.

Thanks for the pointer to track call , i am referring to the sample that comes with opencv here: "\opencv\samples\c\blobtrack_sample.cpp" Please let me know if there is a python script already that performs similar function.

So I googled and peaked at the code. We don't have exactly the same blob tracking framework but we do provide API access to most of the functionality. I would give it a shot.

Hi, @kscottz I was wondering if you took a shot at the code. If you had some ideas that I could use, I would like to try it out, please let me know if you can help.

I am not familiar with what algorithms are in blobtrack.cpp. If you post a link to the source code I can take a look at it and see what is going on. In the mean time, am not sure if this got baked into the 1.3 release, but on the develop branch on the main repo you should take a look at the tracking examples. Specifically this call in the image class. Our GSoC intern Jay spent the better of the summer adding a wide variety of tracking methods to SimpleCV. You can check out some examples of his work here.
