How to get support for Ximea camera?

I read this stackoverflow.com/questions/15231832/industrial-vision-camera-with-python/15233566#15233566

and draw the conclusion that I need to compile opencv with ximea support.

This works fine, the camera works in c++. However, it's not working in python even though everything else in the python bindings works fine.

I guess the SimpleCV support for Ximea is via the opencv pythonbindings?

No idea what I need to change to get this to work. Any help appreciated.

This is correct. We have not wrote direct drivers for XIMEA, only Allied Vision Cameras have we wrote ctype bindings to talk to the C/C++ drivers. We need to do this for XIMEA, at the moment we are using the XIMEA cameras. It sounds like you are on windows, which I have not tested our bindings with, so no gurantee's but on linux I have had it working with the XIMEA CURRERA and the MU9PC_BH models. I have not tested the xiQ (USB 3) models yet either.

If you got this working please let me know. I need to update the README as I would like to get as much support for industrial cameras as possible.
